Tourism Competitiveness Plan for the Biosphere Reserve of La Rioja: “The Man-Made Landscape”

The Leza Canyon, of great environmental value, is connected to the Gorge opened by the River Leza in its course through the limestone of the river canyon.

The birdlife in this area, which can be viewed only from the Mirador del Cañón - Canyon Viewing point, attracts many tourists. The Tourism Plan presents birdwatching as a potential tourist attraction in the valley by developing an interpretive route of the river canyon linked to the rock-dwelling species that nest in the Leza Canyon, such as the Griffon Vulture, Crag Martin, Blue Rock-thrush or the Egyptian Vulture.

Objectives:
  • To encourage Environmental Education
  • To bring birdwatching closer to those visitors interested
  • To make the original path suitable for the enjoyment and use of tourists
